Rector
The Reverend Ernesto Medina

Ernesto has been a priest in the Episcopal Church for over 20 years.  A native of California, he and his wife Susan have found their true home in Nebraska.   They have two children. Eric is a film editor and Elizabeth is completing her studies at Iowa State.

At the core of his ministry is the desire for all to know and experience the abundance of God’s love.  The role of the church, he believes, is to be the community that is constantly holding up a mirror.  This mirror shows each and every person how God has been working in their life.  The truth is that you are forgiven, you are loved, and you are welcomed at the table that has been set for you by God.  The church is also a safe place for every person.  It is a place where you may ask ANY question of faith.

Ernesto is considered the token “Whale Trainer” for the Episcopal Church.  He worked (when he was much younger) with Marine Mammals at Sea World in San Diego.  He is the co-editor of “Awake My Soul” which models methodologies for Intergenerational worship.  Ernesto is a leader in the greater church in the areas of liturgy and formation.  He is the proponent of the concept that Elders are the Stewards of Wisdom – Children and Youth are the Stewards of Prophetic Voice - The two are called to dance together and the Holy Spirit will be known.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call or email him.  Come and explore your faith!

Nancy was ordained a Deacon in 1985. Her educational background includes Carson-Newman College, the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and Education for Ministry. She is a retired teacher and presently serves on the Omaha Public Schools School Board and chairs the Anti-racism Commission for the Diocese. Nancy came to the Episcopal Church from the Baptist Church where much of her freedom in thinking and interpreting scripture was formed. She served on the Board that helped to establish St. Martha’s and coordinated the telephone campaign that recruited new members, mostly people without a church home. As a result of people coming to her seeking spiritual direction shortly after her ordination, she enrolled in the program at the Center for Christian Spirituality at General Theological Seminary. Her concern for the needy, the poor, the hungry and the displaced describes her ministry.
