Chris Roberts is a graduate of Hampden-Sydney College, Virginia – 1971, Virginia Episcopal Theological Seminary 1976, and Duquesne University MA 1992. Chris has served in Episcopal Congregations in Virginia, South Carolina, West Virginia, Montana and Nebraska. He has been the Rector of St. Martha’s since February of 2003. He is married to the Rev. Linda Roberts and has 5 children. Chris loves stories of God’s action in the lives of people, believes in God’s unconditional saving love and believes that God has called St. Martha’s to be a light for the transformation of lives in Sarpy County and the greater Omaha area. He invites you to join in that mission.

The Rev. Linda S. Roberts

Linda is a native of Montana. She attended Montana State University and the University of Montana. Ordained in 1991 she has served ministries in Billings, Virginia City and Sheridan, Montana and Blair, Nebraska. She a special gift for working both with the elderly and children and for many years worked with and developed Elder Ministries. At St. Martha's she is the primary clergy contact to One World Children Development and a resource for our Godly Play Program.

A native of Omaha, Mark spent most of his adult life living in Western Nebraska, working in healthcare. In 2000, he began a period of discernment which culminated in a career change and a call to Holy Orders. In 2006 he received his Masters of Divinity from Iliff School of Theology in Denver, and that summer accepted the position of Curate at St. Martha’s. Mark’s primary area of interest is church planting and church growth, which makes working at St Martha’s a true joy. Mark and his wife Jill have five children, ranging in age from 8 to 28. In his former life, Mark enjoyed golf and fishing, although he has yet to find a way to incorporate them into his ministry.

The Rev. Nancy W. Huston

Nancy Huston graduated from Carson-Newman College, and the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and Education for Ministry. She is a retired teacher and presently serves on the Omaha Public Schools School Board. She came to the Episcopal Church from the Baptist Church where much of her freedom in thinking and interpreting scripture was formed. She was ordained deacon in 1985. She was on the Board that helped to establish St. Martha’s and coordinated the telephone campaign that recruited new, mostly unchurched people, to come to the first meeting of St. Martha’s As a result of people coming to her seeking spiritual direction shortly after her ordination, she enrolled in the program at the Center for Christian Spirituality at General Theological Seminary. She chairs the Anti-racism Commission for the Diocese. Her concern for the needy, the poor, the hungry, the displaced describes her ministry.

Deacon Wes grew up a Methodist in Newton. IA, and graduated Des Moines Area Community College 1970 with a degree in Data Processing. He then joined the U.S. Air Force, serving 1970 to 1995 and retiring as a Chief Master Sergeant. In 1998, Wes graduated from Bellevue University with a BS in Management of Human Resources. Wes and his wife Beth have four grown children, Dawn, Nancy, Melissa, and Seth. Since becoming an Episcopalian in 1983, Wes has served six parishes as an Acolyte Master, Lay Reader, Eucharistic Minister, Sunday School teacher, Men’s Club vice president, Bible Study leader, Vestry member, and Junior Warden. Wes currently works full-time at the Sarpy County Register of Deeds Office. He was ordained to the Holy Order of Deacons in the Episcopal Church in 2006.

Stan Pierce

Stan is a lifelong Episcopalian who came to St. Martha’s in 2003. His background includes twenty-one years in the United States Air Force, ten years with the Union Pacific Railroad, and thirteen years with Community Alliance. He has served as Senior Warden at St. Martha’s for the past two years ending in January 2007, at which time he joined the church staff as Bookkeeper/Property Manager. Stan and his wife Gladys have six children and eight grandchildren.

Baxley

Youth Director

Nicole Baxley is a senior at the University of Nebraska at Omaha earning her BS in Public and Political Communication. She has been a member of our parish since fall 2006 and has a real passion for working with youth. She has embraced her position as Youth Minister at St. Martha’s with excitement and enthusiasm.. Prior to coming to St. Martha’s she was active with the Youth Group at Trinity Cathedral. Moreover, Nicole brings to St Martha’s four years of campus ministry experience from Saint Agnes Academy in Houston, Texas. Nicole recognizes our youth today will become our leaders tomorrow and is excited about leading the youth at St. Martha’s.
